Who We Are
East Asheville is a mission-minded congregation of the United Methodist Church seeking to serve others in the name of Christ.
What to Expect
The 10:55 am Sunday sevice at East Asheville UMC is traditional with the flow of the service and words to hymns and prayers displayed on monitors
in the sanctuary. Most people dress casually for worship, while a few dress up a bit. Please come as you are comfortable and you will find
warm and gracious hospitality when you enter our doors.
Worship
Our weekly worship service is held on Sundays from 10:55 am- Noon.
Studies
Each Sunday we offer a Sunday School class for adults from 9:45-10:45 am.
On Wednesday evenings we gather for Bible study from 6:30 - 7:15 pm. We utilize a mix of DVD series and verse by verse studies of the books of
the Bible. Discussion and application are included in our studies. However, self-reflective sharing is optional for anyone. Our current study is a verse
by verse study on the book of Acts.
Fellowship
We offer an opportunity for fellowship each week on Wednesday evening when we have dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 pm and every second Sunday the
United Methodist Men provide lunch following the worship service. A small donation is appreciated but any visitor or visiting family may attend as the
guest of Pastor Phil.
Music
The music during our Sunday service features the piano and we sing hymns from many traditions. Our music director and pianist, Sharon Riddle,
accompanies our choir. Mark Carlson, our worship leader, directs the choir and leads congregational hymns.
Communion
We celebrate Holy Communion on most first Sundays of each month during worship. Everyone is always invited to the Lord’s Table.
